Yesterday at Hemlington Library we explored the British Newspaper Archive. There is a strange glitch which says 401 permission denied. But we then logged on and found that due to the Middlesbrough Libraries license we were able to access the entire newspaper archive (unlimited) completely free. One woman found a story of an ancestor who was a singer on a ship and another found an article about an ancestor who had been shot in the back of the head.

This week at the Grove Hill Beginners workshop John wanted to check that a picture taken on his phone would automatically be synchronized onto his computer. So he took this picture of me. Then David took a picture on his phone of use looking at the first picture on John's computer.

David rediscovered his shop stewards diary from 1974 when he was at ICI. Remarkably it helped him with his research at the Acklam Ancestry club.
